Welcome to our home page. My name is Fr. John Marsh
and I have been involved with "Hands that Help" for the past eight years.
The organization is basically about very generous Americans, stationed in
Germany, who are reaching out to poor people in Romania, Hungary, Poland and
Italy.
Needless to say we have received wonderful support from the local German
community in terms of food, clothing, money and especially the use of three
trailers for our convoys.
Our inspiration comes from Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who tells
us, “Whatsover you do the least of my brothers and sisters, that you do unto
me.” (Matthew 25:40) As a Redemptorist, I am inspired by the teaching of
Saint Alphonsus Ligouri whose motto in life was “to reach out to the poor
and most abandoned.” At "Hands that Help" we try to live out this
spirituality.
Obviously we try to help any one who asks for our support, but our
fundamental charism is to help the poor and most abandoned. We achieve this
mainly by reaching out to orphans in Romania, mentally and impaired children
in Hungary, homeless women in Cracow, Poland, and destitute people in Naples,
Italy.
How you can help us? Basically you can help us through prayer and
financial donations. Although many of us are Christians, everyone is invited
to be a part of "Hands that Help." If the Lord places it on your heart to
support us, we shall surely appreciate your support. We thank you especially
for your prayers so that we can discern the will of God in all things. Should
you decide to support us financially, I can guarantee that every penny you
donate shall go to charity. (When we go on convoy
to the different countries we all pay our own way. )
To those already supporting "Hands that Help," may I take this opportunity
to thank you again for your continuing generosity. Thank you for taking the
time to view our website and may God bless you all.
